Cancellation Policy

We rely on attendance to make important arrangements. A non-refundable deposit is required for all workshops at time of registration. Should the student cancel, the deposit may be applied to a future Paint the Southwest or Plein Air Painting Maine workshop (up to a year after the original date); if a replacement student can be found, the deposit may be refunded.

Balance is due 30 days prior to the workshop, after which the entire balance is non-refundable. There are no exceptions.

We encourage participants to purchase refundable airline tickets and trip cancellation insurance.

There will be no refund for weather delays or cancellation due to weather before arrival or during the scheduled workshop. Michael Chesley Johnson is not responsible for any additional costs that may be incurred by weather delays or cancellations due to weather, flight delays or otherwise.

Should we need to cancel a scheduled workshop, then participants will have the choice of receiving a full refund or transferring to another workshop in the Paint the Southwest or Plein Air Painting Maine programs that has space available up to a year after the date of the original workshop. We are not, however, liable for expenses incurred such as airfare or accommodations, and for this reason also recommend the purchase of trip insurance.
